A month-long program of action, education and community in honour of International Women's Day.

Opening our month-long International Women’s Day program, this intimate author talk sets the tone for a series dedicated to women building culture, business and community.

In collaboration with Food & Words’ Barbara Sweeney, we're excited to present an afternoon with Emiko Davies, celebrated food writer and co-owner of Tuscany's 'Enoteca Marilu'. Across her cookbooks and editorial work, Emiko explores regional Italian cooking, cultural memory and the rituals that surround the table. This conversation will trace her journey through food writing, publishing, building a business abroad and navigating the global culinary landscape as a woman.

The afternoon will unfold in two stages. The first is a 60-minute in-conversation and audience Q+A, led by Barbara, exploring books, food culture and Emiko’s career. The second brings Emiko together with Famelia's founder Amelia Birch for a discussion on Italian wine, building a wine business centred on women makers, and the intersection between hospitality and storytelling.

You'll enjoy a curated Italian wine flight paired to the stages of the conversation, alongside a grazing spread. With seating capped at 24, the format is deliberately intimate, encouraging dialogue, reflection and connection.
