- Traditional Sparkling
- Bical, Maria Gomes and Cercial
- Bairrada, PRT
- Filipa Pato + William Wouters | Pato & Wouters
Wine Description
Portuguese sparkling wines are still so underrated, and this Blanc de Blancs is the best proof we can give you. Bright and acidic, crisp apple and grapefruit pith on the nose, and luscious pear, lemon sherbet and creamy minerality on the palate. Seriously giving, definitely give it a go!
About the Winemaker
- Non-Traditional Sparkling
- Honey Ambrosia and Pinot Noir
- Denmark, WA
- Lou Chalmer | Yume
Wine Description
Bit of a fun, different bubbles to get us through the drudgery of July. From environmental scientist, to nutrition and genetics consultant, to winemaker, Lou believes in the power of the body to heal itself – all of which comes together in this ‘Ambrosia Nat’. It’s tart, honeycomb, yeasty and wild.
About the Winemaker
- Light White
- Greco
- Langhorne Creek, SA
- Genevieve + Doug | Terrachroma
Wine Description
From the loveliest of lovely couples going around, these two make wines “inspired by a wine they couldn’t forget”. In this case they wanted a textural white that holds its acid in the heat - and gosh darn, they made it! Pepper, slate, oily cashews, pecorino rind, and as Richie says “jonquils in the snow”.
About the Winemaker
- Medium White
- Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle
- Bordeaux, FR
- Corinne + Jean-Michel Comme | Corinne + Jean-Michel Comme
Wine Description
A co-ferment of three Bordeaux white varieties which gives this wine a lovely completeness. We get bright honeysuckle, white flowers, musk and dried hay on the nose. This carries through to the palate with a lovely, textural, clean opulence - think apricots in syrup with a bright, salty finish.
About the Winemaker
- Medium White
- Chardonnay
- Tumbarumba, NSW
- Meagan + James Becker | M+J Becker Wines
Wine Description
I love wines from Tumbarumba, and this one is the goods. It’s buttery and resinous, bees waxy and creamy cashews, breakfast oats and orange blossom - and then there’s a lovely, oily salinity that pulls it all together by its bootstraps. These two can do no wrong, it’s a pleasure to feature them!
About the Winemaker
- Orange
- Pinot Gris
- King Valley, VIC
- Tess Brown + Jeremy Schmolzer | Vignerons Schmölzer + Brown (VS+B)
Wine Description
Wow! This is such a complex and interesting orange that encapsulates a wholesome and complete journey in the tasting experience. First up we get musky rosewater prettiness that then progresses into a savoury profile - yellow capsicum and celery salt, with warm, tingly acid and amazing grip!
About the Winemaker
- Chilled Red
- Tempranillo, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon
- Margaret River, WA
- Josephine Perry | Dormilona
Wine Description
It’s never not a banger when its got Jo Perry’s name next to it, and this chilled red is no exception. The glass is filled with supple red fruits and spicy, herbal dominance. It’s a delightful contradiction in terms, and such a smash-able chilled red for the season. If you’re ever in WA, go and say hi to Jo!
About the Winemaker
- Rosé
- Mencia
- Adelaide Hills, SA
- Candice Helbig + Frewin Ries | CRFT Wines
Wine Description
You know you really gel with a winemaker when you both agree, with gusto, that their wine smells like sweaty armpits, and it’s the best thing you’ve smelled all day. Don’t let that put you off, or you’ll miss out!! This spicy, Spanish grape shines as a rosé. I love the grassy, sesame, salty raspberry vibes.
About the Winemaker
- Light Red
- Monastrell
- Jumilla DOP, SP
- María Jover Sanchéz | Parajes del Valle
Wine Description
A fan favourite from our ‘Not Pinot Noir’ event, yet so striking in its Pinot similarities. A juicy red fruit medley - cherries & raspberries - with an unmistakable dried tobacco nose. On the palate it leans into the savoury flavour profile - cedar, pine needles and fragrant juniper-berries. Yum!
About the Winemaker
- Medium Red
- Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre
- McLaren Vale, SA
- Dr Irina Santiago-Brown + Dudley Brown | Inkwell
Wine Description
From Australia’s first Regen. Organic Certified vineyard (the ROC’s mandate is to rehabilitate soil, respect animal welfare & improve the lives of farmers). So basically, drinking this wine is a net-positive experience, we’re here for it. This moody red blend is black-fruited, vanilla & peppery fun.
About the Winemaker
- Medium Red
- Nebbiolo
- Alpine Valleys, VIC
- Paula Pipan + Radley Steel | Pipan Steel
Wine Description
The site for this winery took years to find, their desire being to reproduce an Aussie version of this regal grape in line with the altitude & aspect of the famed Piemonte region. After 7 years in bottle, this wine has softened beautifully, yet remains as powerful as can be - safe to say, they’ve nailed it.
About the Winemaker
- Medium Red
- Merlot, Grenache and Syrah
- Batroun, LEB
- Fady + Nathalie Geara | Aurora
Wine Description
We’re having a moment with Lebanese wines right now, and this red is a fascinating find! Big, inky, and smoky AF, this is a blend of 3 grapes from the mountainous terraces of Batroun, at 900 m.a.s.l. Think black fruits, dark chocolate and smoky Lapsang Souchong tea. It’s wild!
