2023 Maison D’Alussia Bourgogne Aligote - K&P

Alexandra Wilson is an Aussie winemaker who really knows her way around a cellar, having spent years working with legends of wine.

In this Aligote Alex isn't looking for a "thin" white; she wants something with a bit of heart. By using a mix of older barrels and ceramic "Clayvers," she’s managed to keep that bright, electric acidity while building in a really pleasing weight and texture.

In the glass, it’s all about lemon zest and crunchy green apple, but there’s this great sea-salt tang and a slightly waxy feel that keeps it interesting. It’s an understated, high-quality white that shows exactly what Aligoté can do when it’s treated with the same respect as a top-flight Chardonnay.
