About the Winemaker

Meet Samantha Chandra, the winemaker behind Setiono, a new project emerging from the Barossa Valley. With a passion for Rhone-style Syrah, Sam’s journey began after her inaugural vintage at Wynns in Coonawarra, where she honed her craft under the mentorship of Sue Hodder.

She furthered her winemaking experience at various other Australian wineries, and even overseas in the Napa Valley. These diverse experiences enriched her understanding of terroir, technique, and the artistry of winemaking.

In 2021, Sam’s dream materialised as Setiono took shape. A label born from love, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, it promises to redefine Barossa’s vinous landscape.
