A fresh, mineral-driven Sicilian white that brings together native grapes from across the island, all meeting beneath the northern slopes of Etna. Palmento Bianco is bright and savoury, with citrus leading the way... lemon and grapefruit gently layered against a saline fringe. Texture hums beneath the freshness thanks to a mix of skin contact, chestnut cask and time on lees. Crisp, dry, mouth-watering, with that classic Etna tension pulling everything into line.

About the Winemakers
Anna Martens + Eric Narioo | Vino di Anna + Nord-Sud

Anna and her husband Eric make fabulous Italian wine at their vineyard in Sicily, under the label 'Vino di Anna'. The pair have also recently launched an organic wine label down-under. Based out of the Adelaide Hills, their label 'Nord-Sud,' is a nod to their winemaking spanning both hemispheres.

Anna and Eric are committed to making wines of place, that reflect the singular site of Etna (they're on the North-Eastern side near Solicchiata) with its volcanic soils, warm, dry climate, and varietals that are expressive and bright, that blend well together. They built a Quevry room in the early 2000's ~ an ancient Georgian winemaking style, where ceramic/clay pots are 'planted' underground and hold the wine through fermentation and aging. This is great for temperature control, and is a neutral material so it doesn't add any secondary characteristics to the wines (like oak does). It allows the wines to breathe, but keeps them fresh and really enhances the zippy minerality.
