This Sister Act co-ferment is a bit of a beautiful accident. Chardonnay that spent two weeks on skins, all tea-like and textural, before a handful of leftover Cab Franc wandered in mid-ferment and decided to stay. The end result is a bright and cheeky wine, with hits of lime cordial, steeped green tea, orange oil, cranberry, and a gentle herbal thing running underneath it all. It’s vibrant but not shouty, with that soft Chardonnay grip brushing up against the red-berry snap of the Franc. The finish hangs around in this quietly citrus-peel, cool-green-tea way. It’s expressive, unconventional, and very much a “go with the flow” kind of wine... in the best possible sense.

About the Winemakers
Alicia + Pilar Basa | Sister Act

Alicia and Pilar Basa are the familial duo behind Sister Act; a tiny, heartfelt side project from the same creative brains behind Borachio. Alicia (one half of Borachio) makes the wine; Pilar is the illustrator responsible for those instantly recognisable Borachio labels... but she’s also been in the thick of it since day one, rolling up for vintage, shovelling fruit, and bringing her own spark to the cellar. Sister Act was their chance to make something together, just the two of them… with a purpose stitched straight through the core. A portion of every Sister Act bottle sold goes directly to The Period Project, supporting Australians experiencing period poverty and housing insecurity. Period poverty isn’t just about lack of pads or tampons, it’s the ripple effect that follows when someone can’t access safe, reliable menstrual care. It means missing school, skipping work, risking infection, or having to choose between period products and food. All the wine these two incredible women have made has had a very real impact, not just in the glass, but in the lives of the women and families their work supports. Even more reason to support them!
