2021 Millton Vineyards 'Libiamo' Amphora Chenin Blanc

Annie and James Millton have been doing the organic and biodynamic thing since long before it was cool. They founded Millton in 1984 on the banks of the Te Arai River in Gisborne, New Zealand, returning home after time working in France and Germany. Their vineyards (Opou, Te Arai and Clos de Ste. Anne) sit close to the Pacific, where sea breezes keep things cool and calm, and the soils are river-carved and full of life. In the winery, ferments are wild, the handling is gentle, and time does most of the work. If Millton has a heartbeat, it’s Chenin Blanc. James absolutely adores the variety, and Te Arai has become one of New Zealand’s benchmark expressions.
