Dr Anh Nguyen started Torch Bearer Wines in 2017, after taking over the ownership of 'ese' vineyards. Since then she has managed to seamlessly blend her passion for nature with cutting-edge technology. As the 2019 Tasmanian AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award State Winner, she has not only made strides in biodynamic wine production but also in pioneering sustainable farming practices.
Anh’s boutique vineyard in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley is a beacon of biodynamic excellence. Each bottle she crafts on the 6.5 hectares of land is a celebration of the earth’s purity and a reflection of her commitment to a self-supporting ecosystem.
With a background in engineering and a PhD in Civil Engineering, Anh has introduced an automatic frost control system driven by artificial intelligence, ensuring each vine thrives in optimal conditions. She has transformed the traditional 'ese' vineyards into successful biodynamic ones. Planting trees to combat noise and pollution, she’s not just making wine; she’s nurturing a legacy that improves our planet.
