Rose Kentish’s journey into winemaking began nearly three decades ago, crafting wines from the McLaren Vale vines planted by her late father-in-law in 1969. Alongside her viticulturist husband, Sam Harrison, Rose rejuvenated the old vineyard, driven by a philosophy of growing premium quality fruit led by terroir. In 2010, Rose and her family moved to France, establishing relationships with Estate vignerons in the south of France. She has returned for vintage each year to nourish these relationships and create wines that express the essence of the land on which they’re grown.
Rose’s practice is more than just a brand; it’s a reflection of the seasons, the learnings, and the personal journey of being a maker. Alongside the family wine business, Rose and Sam tend to their regenerative farm on Kangaroo Island and host guests at their retreat, Pago. Rose is also the Co-Founder of Sparkke, a for-purpose alcohol company.
