We’re taking the conversation off-site this week to Kasama Studios, a small-batch ceramics and creative hub in the Newtown School of Arts heritage building. Founded in 2024 by Ria Desiree, a lawyer-turned-creative force to be reckoned with, Kasama Studios is more than just a pottery space - it’s an inclusive environment built on the same values of connection and empowerment that drive Famelia.
Experience learning how to make pottery using basic hand-building skills (pottery without a wheel!) at a beautifully curated private artist studio space in Newtown on Gadigal Land.
Workshop includes:
- Guided handbuilding session (2hrs)
- Clay plus firing & glazing of one (1) work
- Use of apron and pottery tools
- 4 half-glasses of women-made wine
- Grazing table
This hands-on evening is beginner friendly and blends art, wine, and conversation, offering both a guided hand-building clay session and a thought-provoking discussion on this year's International Women’s Day’s theme, Accelerate Action.
DATE: Tuesday 11th March
TIME: 6.30pm - 8.30pm
LOCATION: Kasama Studios - Newtown School of Arts - 5 Eliza Street, Newtown | Gadigal Land
Please note each ceramic work will be carefully hand wrapped and made available for collection approximately 6 weeks after the workshop date.
