ABOUT THE WINEMAKERS

Wines of Merritt is a small-batch, low-intervention project from Margaret River. Nick (Maker) and his wife Sarah (Master) make wines that are expressive, textured, and characterful, using left of centre varieties and techniques. They source their grapes from single vineyards that reflect the terroir and climate of the region, and they avoid fining and filtering to preserve the natural beauty of the wine. They were inspired by Nick's great-grandparents, Forrester and Prim Merritt, who established Kingston-on-Murray as a temperance village in 1894. They honour their legacy by making wines that are particularly good and worthy of attention.
