A wild and wonderful skinsy blend, the 2021 ‘Doppelgänger’ is all texture and energy. Mostly Riesling, with Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürz and a splash of Sauv Blanc - all fermented separately on skins anywhere from two weeks to nine months, then blended with a multi-vintage solera started back in 2014! Expect lifted aromatics like mandarin peel, ginger spice, fennel seed, jasmine tea, even a touch of eucalyptus... and loads of juicy, chalky grip. Fermented wild, aged in old oak and ceramic egg, unfined and unfiltered, it’s zippy, chewy, crunchy, it's a very welcome assault on the palate. Definitely not your average white that's for sure.

About the Winemakers
Yoko Luscher-Mostert + Andries Mostert | Brave New Wine

Andries and Yoko Lüscher-Mostert are the couple behind Brave New Wine, and two of the most refreshingly creative minds in the landscape of Australian wine. Andries is the winemaker - after stints at Moss Wood, Picardy, Shaw + Smith plus others, he decided it was time to make wines that excited him. Yoko, a self-taught label designer and multi-talented creative, brings the visual flair (those iconic labels? All her). Together, they take risks, play with process, and make wines that are full of life. Everything they do is about expressing their curiosity... they're brave in both name and nature!
