Shofang Hu + Levi Li | Shofang Wines

Shofang Hu is a trailblazing winemaker redefining what Chinese wine can be. Armed with winemaking studies at Northwest Agriculture and Forest University in Xi'an and vintages completed in South Australia's McLaren Vale, Shofang returned home in 2019 to take over her family's vineyard in Qinhuangdao, Hebei. Rather than sell fruit to industrial producers as her family once had, she rescued some of China's oldest commercial vineyards — planting her flag for pure, elegant wines made from old-vine Muscat Hamburg, a variety uniquely tied to Hebei. Working alongside her husband Levi Lee, Shofang is quietly rebuilding Hebei's winemaking reputation, one bottle at a time.
