Josetta Saffirio, a name synonymous with exceptional, terroir-expressive wines, social responsibility, and a vision for the future. This family has been deeply connected to the land in the UNESCO World Heritage Barolo area for over two centuries, making them one of the most dedicated and committed families in the region.
Their story begins with Ernesto, who in the early twentieth century cultivated the first vineyard on the family's land in Monforte d'Alba. Through generations, the vineyard area has expanded, and it was Josetta who took the bold step to establish the winery and transition from grower to producer. Josetta decided to retire in 1999, and her daughter Sara Vezza stepped up at only 19 years of age to carry the family legacy on.
She remains at the helm as CEO and winemaker. Sara is the soul of the company. Her bond with the land and the vineyard is deeply rooted in her, the representative of the fifth generation of the Saffirio family, whose baton has been passed down through the female line. Biodiversity and environmental protection are the cornerstones of her forward-looking viticulture.
