About the Winemaker

Genie wine (made by Jean-Marie Taylor) began 5 years ago from a love of working on the land and a passion for creating something to share with her friends. Genie is based on community, wholesome creativity, innovation and appreciation for small batch and thoughtful, minimal intervention wine making.

Although Genie began as a small side project, each year as she learns more about winemaking and grape growing Genie is expanding to encapsulate my new interests and skills.
The wines themselves follow suit, they are honest, real and ever evolving. A reflection of the year that they are grown; from the climate and land, the early morning grape picking, the logistics and planning to the long and winding road of processing and fermentation. They are the music played in the winery, the laughs and stories shared over racking, pressing, testing and bottling and a cold tinnie at the end of a hot day.
