This beautiful Nebbiolo comes from the Freeman Family Vineyard in Young, in the Hilltops region of New South Wales. It leans into a lighter expression, akin to the alpine styles of Valtellina. A cool, extended growing season stretched ripening well into May, building flavour slowly whilst preserving that line of acidity that defines Nebbiolo. Refreshingly light on its feet, it bursts with rose petals, sour cherry and cinnamon... There's some savoury undertones too that keep everything nice and balanced.

Meagan + James Becker | M+J Becker Wines

Meagan and James Becker are making some of the most exciting wines coming out of the Hunter at the moment. Tucked into the rolling hills of Pokolbin on Wonnarua Country, their vineyards have been farmed organically for years, with a real focus on letting the fruit lead the way. They split their time between here and California, and share their winery with a bunch of other creative winemakers doing their own thing too. They’ve picked up a bunch of love over the years, including nods from Young Gun of Wine and other awards that quietly back up just how good they are at what they do. They're even growing agave now, because they’re curious like that.
