Winemaker Tasting | Nichola Midgley of Abinett Wine

We are so excited to be welcoming Nichola Midgley of Abinett Wine for an exclusive ‘Taste with the Winemaker’ event on Thursday 23rd July!

Nichola (Nic) Midgley is the founder and winemaker behind Abinett Wine, a small-batch urban winery just down the road from Famelia, in Marrickville (on Gadigal Land)! Nic works with fruit sourced from local regions across New South Wales and the Canberra District, making honest, expressive wines with a focus on creativity, community and individuality.

Abinett’s wines are made with a minimal intervention approach, using wild ferments and gentle handling. The result is vibrant, approachable wine with bright fruit, savoury detail and a sense of fun, while still keeping the focus on craft and care. No two vintages are exactly the same, and that is very much part of the point.

Nic is part of a growing movement of small producers making real, characterful wine in the city, with bottles designed to feel alive, approachable and full of personality.
