Brooding with dark cherry and spiced plum, the fruit sourced for the 2023 Nero d’Avola comes from a standout grower in Gundagai. The palate leans into juicy black fruit with firm, fine tannins that give it shape and structure. Perfect for anyone who wants their red velvet-smooth!

About the Winemaker
Chrissie Smith | Intrepidus

Chrissie Smith is the driving force behind Intrepidus Wines, founded in 2021 on a one-acre vineyard in the Canberra District. After a bold career change in 2017, she threw herself into vineyard work and formal wine studies, combining hands-on experience with wine science and viticulture training to develop a philosophy that great wines start in the vineyard. Every vine, every block, every season shapes the wines she makes. Her approach is experimental and sustainable: cover crops, minimal intervention, and clever co-ferments all help the fruit shine.
