About the Winemaker

María Sancho & Paco Cotino | Bodegas Montesanco

María studied winemaking at university. She attracted interest because of her ability, her passion and her desire to get her boots muddy and her hands dirty – making wine. Backed by a small group of business people she took over the Bodega Aranleon in the Utiel-Requena area thirty years ago. Unlike almost all the many bodega owners, María is first generation winery owner.
