Clarisse de Sureman
Clarisse de Sureman

A child of Burgundy, Clarisse de Suremain grew up surrounded by vineyards… but left to pursue another life entirely. First music, as a classical pianist. Then business school. Then consulting. All seemingly right paths on paper but none that ever felt like her own. A reconnection with her family’s roots and a pull toward something slower, earthier, and more human is what pulled Clarisse back to Burgundy. In 2019, some parcels of Aligoté and Gamay were gifted to her... modest appellations that were often overlooked. Today, she farms just over 2 hectares across Monthelie, Volnay and Pommard, supplementing with carefully sourced organic fruit, and works with the gentlest possible hand in the cellar.
