About the Winemakers

Candice Helbig and Frewin Ries are the duo behind CRFT Wines - partners in both wine and life. Candice, a Barossa native, brings over 20 years of experience to the table, with a passion for Chardonnay, Grüner and Pinot. Frewin started his winemaking career in Marlborough at Cloudy Bay at just 17, and has since worked across the globe, honing a love for site-specific wines. Their winemaking style is minimal intervention with maximum detail - wild ferments, small batches, no fining, and a commitment to organic farming. After a pivotal overseas trip, they founded CRFT in 2012 and purchased the Arranmore vineyard in 2016. It’s now their home, their winery, and the source of some of South Australia’s most exciting wines.
