About the Winemaker
Anna Eoclide | Bacco

Anna’s childhood in Italy was filled with the fragrant seasons of her grandparents’ farm, where they grew much of their own food. Her father, Romano, carried on the family’s wine making traditions, producing wine for loved ones while managing some of the region’s finest vineyards. When she met her now husband Simon in 1985, a visit to her family’s medieval village of Castell’Arquato introduced him to Romano’s wines. The rich food culture was a revelation, but tasting the Gutturnio Frizzante - a sparkling red made using ‘Metodo Ancestrale’ from indigenous grapes - was truly unforgettable. The techniques and grape varieties had remained unchanged since Roman times. This became their inspiration.
