Winemaker Tasting ~ Chrissie Smith of Intrepidus
We’re excited to be welcoming Chrissie Smith of Intrepidus Wines for a special Taste with the Winemaker evening. Chrissie Smith is the founder of and principal winemaker at Intrepidus—a small-batch label that celebrates the beauty of cool-climate Victorian vineyards. After honing her craft in Beaujolais and returning to Australia, Chrissie set out to create wines that are as much about place as they are about people.
Her approach is guided by minimal intervention and a deep respect for the land, resulting in wines that are vibrant and expressive of their origin. Intrepidus focuses on thoughtful expressions of Yarra Valley and Heathcote fruit, with a particular love for varieties like shiraz, sangiovese, and cabernet sauvignon. Chrissie's wines are known for their balance, purity, and a light-handed style that lets the vineyards speak for themselves. Every bottle tells the story of her journey: bold, adventurous, and intrepid by name and nature.
