2021 Ashleigh Barrowman ‘Queen of Cups’ Chenin Blanc

Ashleigh Barrowman is a passionate and adventurous winemaker who loves to explore and learn from different wine cultures. She has worked with some of the world’s finest winemakers, such as Patrick Sullivan in Australia, Hans Herzog in New Zealand, Vino di Anna in Sicily, Domaine Labet and Les Bottes Rouges in Jura, and Jean-Jacques Morel in Burgundy.

In 2020, after years of travelling and exploring, she returned to her home in Marlborough, NZ, and fell in love with the Wrekin Vineyard. There, she produces unique wines from single-vineyard, single-varietal grapes. She works with biodynamic fruit grown at high-altitude vineyards, where the soil is rich in clay and greywacke.

Ashleigh spends her time between the vineyard and the winery, where she follows a natural and low-intervention philosophy. All her wines are hand-harvested, wild-fermented, and bottled without fining or filtering and with minimal sulphites. Ashleigh’s wines are vibrant, refined, and full of personality.
