What the Famelia team have to say about this wine...

Ally: This has a very delicate mouthfeel, I get lots of raspberry and blackberry notes with a hint of vanilla. The flavour is lasting and the tannins are perfectly intense! I think it’s my favourite this month.
Richard: Kissing wine! So much of this wine lives on your lips ~ its flavours are luscious and persistent!

About the winemakers

Guillaume and Hélène Baron are the passionate and talented winemakers behind Clos de la Barthassade, a domaine in the Terrasses du Larzac appellation in the Languedoc region of southern France.

They farm their vineyards organically and biodynamically, using a horse to plough the oldest parcels of bush-vines. They avoid chemicals and harsh machinery, and follow a moral logic and respect for the environment. They vinify their grapes in the most natural way possible, using gravity, temperature-controlled tanks, concrete eggs, amphoras, and old barrels. They use 50-80% whole cluster fermentation, which is rare for the Languedoc, and gives their wines a unique character. Their wines are luminous, fresh, aromatic, and balanced, with a purity of fruit that reflects their origin.
