1. 2022 Alheit Vineyards ‘Hereafter Here’ Chenin Blanc

A young vine Chenin, oh how I love!! ‘Hereafter Here’ is Alheit’s ode to the future - to new plantings, younger sites, and the promise of what’s to come. Pressed as whole bunches early in the morning, the juice is wild fermented in old barrels, kept on full lees for 12 months, then aged a further 6 months in the tank. No additions. No fining. Just careful, minimal handling and maximum texture. Aromatically complex and gently savoury, it's all white citrus, dried herbs, peach stone, lemon oil and bitter almond. The palate is silky and textural, with a bit of honeydew, white peach and savoury lees notes too. Rich but not overtly fruity... more plush and harmonious to it's fullest extent. A favourite this month!
2. 2023 CRFT White Pinot Noir

A beautifully crafted White Pinot Noir from CRFT’s cold-climate estate vineyard in Carey Gully. This is a single-vineyard, whole-bunch and direct-pressed wine, wild fermented and barrel-aged for 9 months in French oak ... so prepare yourself. Expect some rosewater, orange blossom and guava on the nose, with a palate full of musk lollies, citrus, and a gentle mid-palate viscosity. There’s spice, a little nuttiness, and a trail of blood orange acidity that hums with minerality. It's bloody delicious! Proper grown-up rosé energy - bright, layered and oh-so drinkable.
3. 2022 La Calcinara Rosso Conero ‘Il Cacciatore di Sogni’ Montepulciano

100% Montepulciano! Il Cacciatore di Sogni (The Hunter of Dreams) is juiiicccy... deep ruby red in hue with aromas of black cherry, plum, cedar, and leather. On the palate, it’s lush and silky with powdery tannins, layers of fruit and a mineral finish that really lingers. Aged in both large oak and steel, it offers the perfect balance of structure and softness. A delightful dinner-table companion!
